Paragliding

Kenya is full of high grounds, some of the best locations to go paragliding include Kijabe, Mt. Ololokwe and Ndoto Mountains. Machakos and the Kilifi are also famous paragliding venues depending on the winds.The most popular, however, is in the Kerio Valley where you can soar into the skies and get wonderful views of the Rift Valley.

Kerio Valley in the Rift Valley is the most famous venue with professional gliders, the reason why droves of paragliders from Europe and America gather there annually for this sport.

Most foreign paragliders come to Kenya during the December to April season when its winter in their countries. Its during this season that temperatures are warm in the valley and the winds are strongest making it a suitable place to paraglide.

The average hours spent by a paraglider is 4 hours, however the record time so far at Kerio valley is seven hours.

Day 1
AIRPORT TRANSFER
  • Arrive Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Overnight and meals at the hotel.
Day 2
NAIROBI DAY TOUR

1.Giraffe Center: home to a towering crew of endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. Here, visitors can feed giraffes from a treetop platform, walk a nature trail to the Gogo River, and learn about wildlife conservation at the on-site nature center.

2.David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: A pioneering facility for the protection and rehabilitation of black rhinos and African elephants, the trust saves injured and orphaned animals from the wild and rehabilitates them for a return to their natural habitats. This nonprofit park was founded in 1977 and operates within Nairobi National Park.

NAIROBI – KIJABE – NAIVASHA

( Paragliding at Kijabe Hills )

  • Drive (1 hour) from Nairobi to Kijabe Hill.
  • Drive/hike Kijabe hill to paraglide.
  • Proceed to Naivasha after flying to hotel/camp.
  • Spend the afternoon and evening exploring Naivasha.
  • Overnight and meals at lodge.
Day 3

NAIVASHA TO MAASAI MARA

( Paragliding at Kijabe Hills )

  • Breakfast and checkout at the lodge.
  • Mid-morning drive from Naivasha to Kijabe.
  • Paraglide in Kijabe
  • Drive (2 hrs) to Maasai Mara National Park.
  • Check-in at lodge in the Maasai Mara.
  •  Evening game drive at Maasai Mara National Park.
  • Overnight and meals at the lodge.
Day 4 & 5

MAASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

  • Spend the days exploring Maasai Mara National Park.
  • During the Wildebeest Migration months (July – Aug), our professional safari guide will take you to key crossing points in the Park in the hope of witnessing a spectacular wildebeest river crossing.
  • Overnights and meals at the lodge.

Activities Available in the Maasai Mara:

  • Morning, Afternoon and Evening Game Drives.

  • Cultural Visit to Maasai Village (US $ 30 per adult).

MAASAI MARA TO KERIO VALLEY

  • Breakfast and checkout at the lodge.
  • Drive (4 hrs) to Kerio.

PARAGLIDING AT KERIO VALLEY

  • Breakfast and meals at the lodge.
  • Two days adrenaline thrill Paragliding at Kerio Valley soaring by the magnificent Rift Valley escapements.
Day 9

DEPARTURE BACK TO NAIROBI

  • Breakfast and checkout at the lodge.
  • Drive (5 HRS) back to Nairobi with 15 min view point stops.
